Roger Jones' musical 'ROCK,'  being performed in Wigan in November, tells the story of Simon Peter, one of Jesus' first disciples, through the eyes of the Roman centurion Christian convert Cornelius.
The story is told through flash backs telling of Peter’s calling and time with Jesus in his ministry, through the time of Jesus’ death to the Resurrection and beyond.
The musical production is being presented by a touring company of musicians, dancers and soloists, backed by a locally recruited and rehearsed chorus special to each location. There are several UK tours this year, the first of which is coming to Wigan on November 9th, 3.15 at Robin Park Indoor Sports Centre.
Local singers are already rehearsing, and welcome new members.  A new community group ‘CMW’ (Christian Music in Wigan) is raising funds to stage the production, so ticket prices can support the Mayor’s Charity. Child tickets £2.50, adult £4.00, family ticket for 5 £12.00.
