Aspull Juniors win cup after penalty shootout
More Local Sport >>

11th June 2009

The end of season league cup final saw Aspull Juniors Under 10’s football team win in dramatic fashion as they came from two goals down to level at 2 : 2 and then go on to lift the trophy following a dramatic penalty shoot out.

After a goaless first half in which Aspull hit the woodwork four times the game exploded into life to end in a tense but thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere.
After a mixed season in which Aspull lost more league games than in their short, three-season lifespan, this relatively new team came strong when it mattered against a top quality CMB team from Bolton.
The teams entered the stadium to the sound of the UEFA Champions League theme tune in front of an impressive crowd.
The warm and sunny day allowed for an excellent game of football, enjoyed by a loud and appreciative crowd, that would have graced a Premier League game usually played in such a modern football stadium.
The Aspull Juniors Football Club, that has the coveted FA Charter Standard Development award and currently has twenty one junior teams operating from its Aspull Moor base, supported the team throughout its glorious cup run will present the silverware, again, at its annual presentation awards evening to be held at the JJB Stadium.

Want to save money on Gas and Electricity?

3rd January 2009

By Sue Reeves
I have been a member of Utility Warehouse Discount Club for over four years now.
Taking this further, I decided to become an agent for the company. I am no sales person, but I believe strongly in the product, and the price comparisons speak for themselves. I'm keen on helping my friends and family save money and am happy to do a price comparison for you to see if you can benefit from switching to them.
Have you noticed how when there is a change in the cost of energy, the big suppliers seem to be incredibly quick to put their prices up but terribly slow to pass on any reductions? You moved to a different supplier because their prices are cheaper, but then they or your original supplier moves their prices. You would have been better off staying where you were in the first place! Sound familiar?
Once you change to Utility Warehouse you will find there is no need to change suppliers every few months. It's guaranteed long-term value, but you are not tied in to any minimum term contract should you wish to move. What’s more their customer service is excellent - and all UK based!
To keep their prices competitive, they compare them every month against British Gas, your Regional Electricity Supplier and the average of the cheapest direct debit tariff available from each of the “Big 6” suppliers, on a like-for-like basis. If necessary, they will adjust their prices regularly in line with their unique “Triple Value” guarantee:
1. For your gas, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than British Gas, wherever you live in the UK.
2. For your electricity, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than the prices charged by the regional electricity supplier for the area where you live.
3. And for your complete peace of mind, we guarantee our prices will always remain competitive compared with the cheapest tariffs available from the “Big 6” suppliers.
If you would like me to visit you to explain more or sign you up for your gas, electricity or other services email your name and evening telephone number to savemoney123@tiscali.co.uk and I will contact you to discuss a convienient time to call.
